Vincent's Photoshoot

My Precious Boys

We had Vincent's first pictures taken at 10 days old. These pictures are priceless and Beth Jansen is an amazing photographer. I love her work! She came to our house and was here for over 3 hours. She had me turn off the air conditioner and she brought along a space heater. Our house was 78 degrees and it was 95 degrees outside so let's just say with the temperature and post pregnant body i was sweating my BUTT off!!! I was lucky to have Lacy here with me so she could help. Here are a few of my favorites...

Eating Machine

Vincent is 16 days old today and he is a eating machine! He eats almost every 2 hours and sometimes every hour. He is growing everyday along with new sounds and developing his personality. He loves to be held and sleep in our bed. We have got to break this habit so daddy is going to stay up with him tonight and let him fuss it out, what a good daddy he is! We also had his newborn pictures done by Beth Jansen and they are going to be so CUTE! Above is a sneak peek of what is to come.

Vincent's Arrival

Vincent Edwin Oliver arrived June 13, 2010 at 2:51pm. He weighed 8lb. 7oz. and 20 1/2 inches long. He is just perfect and is a very calm baby even when he was first brought into this world. I hope he stays like this. I find myself just staring at him and giving him kisses all over! He has dark black hair, blue eyes, chubby cheeks and big full lips!!!

I never understood what being a mommy is like until now. It is such a miracle and a blessing from above. He started out as the size of a poppyseed and now is a little baby boy! I hope everyone has the opportunity to be a mommy because I can't even explain the joy it brings. I also never understood what mom's did all day at home. I always found myself asking my mom friends, "Don't you get bored?" But now I understand, time FLIES by!!! When you are feeding every 2-3 hours changing diapers almost every hour and then trying to feed yourself and maybe catching a nap somewhere in the day...it's gone! I have been very lucky to have alot of help recently. Ran has been such a great daddy and helping tremendously. My mother has been staying with us for a week, my sister came in town for the weekend, and my mother in law has ran many errands for me. I don't know what I would do without some extra hands around the house. I am scared to let them all leave...EEKS!

We are going tomorrow to see the pediatrician for a weight check so we will see how he has been eating! I'll try to keep up my posts but once my help leaves I can't promise anything!

My first BLOG...

Vincent's nursery

I am starting this blog to document the new arrival of our sweet baby boy. The Oliver life is about to change all for the better and with alot of bottles! We are expecting Vincent Edwin Oliver June 17th and couldn't be more blessed and excited! I am not promising the best blog but i think it is a great way to keep family and friends updated on our new family.
We have chosen Vincent because it is a strong name meaning "to conquer" and it has stuck since we found out he was boy at 18 weeks pregnant. Edwin is after my inspirational "Paw-Paw" that passed away last fall. We miss him but can't wait to tell Vincent about his grandpa that he is named after. I also really like monogramming as you can see in the pictures of the nursery. The last picture is of my suitcase for the hospital. I know it is very large but you never know what you will need!
